Frequently Asked Questions

What’s the difference between Braid and a joint bank account?

With Braid, you can customize your account in ways you cannot when you use a joint bank account. For example, you can grant some people permission to withdraw, set a spending cap, and switch your Braid Card between different groups. Also, you don’t need to switch banks. Braid works with any U.S. bank account.

Do you check my credit? Will signing up affect my credit score?

We do not perform a credit check and your credit will not be affected at all if you sign up for Braid.

Do you support direct deposit into groups?

Yes, we do. Each group has a routing and account number associated with it and you can use this account and routing number to have some or all of your direct deposit put directly into Braid.
